The design of this watch is inspired by the dashboard in a submarine.
White hour and minute hands stand out for easy time reading. Second hand is omitted because this movement does not allow second hand to be installed. It is better to get rid of second hand. The appearance is closely resemble a submarine instrument panel without second hand. If a second hand sweeps around, it looks more like a clock than a submarine instrument panel.
Its stainless steel case is deliberately made gray via sand-blasting technique. The gray tone brings a visual effect of ruggedness. It does not reflect light and make scratches less visible.

The answer is little-known movement is used to serve niche market and bring more variety in product mix. Automatic version with ST16 can be made if there is demand.
