Here comes the long-awaited field watch co-designed by friends, enthusiasts and forum members who have provided invaluable advice that is so inspiring.
High end ST2553 automatic is reverberating its crisp yet muffled ticking sound.
At 12 o'clock is a red star, underneath is printed "25 jewels, Automatic". "China made, Sea-Gull" is printed above 6 o'clock. Big hour digits are raised above green front face. Hour and minute hands are luminous. The long second hand has a red tip, a star at the end.
It is interesting to see the red star is not very obvious, but blinking now and then. This blinking effect makes hour indices and hands appear more conspicuous. The vast majority of designs put emphasis on 12 o'clock position where a hefty logo is often laid here. Getting rid of shackles, contrasted by green and red, this watch's 12 o'clock position has a finishing touch of impressionism where the red star is hinted but clearly over there.
Brushed stainless steel case in silver white. On the left side is a plate engraved “China army watch No.1” The crown is signed with a flying sea gull.
On its solid stainless steel back finds a big pentagram star, with wheat flowers and a gear as the background. "People's liberation army of China" crosses the top.
Quality green strap is padded thick, matching well with the green dial.
Put aside other mundane watches, try on this one. How do you feel? Simply put, I feel stepping out of a small civic into a big AWD V-8, more powerful, more luxurious. One can not help wondering what a brilliant joint effort it is, really the Cadillac in watch and clock industry.
